Special Education Evaluations
In order for a school district to address a special education student's needs, the district must first identify what those needs are through a comprehensive and thorough evaluation. In addition to making sure the evaluation conforms with educational and psychological standards, state and federal regulations place numerous legal requirements on school districts during the evaluation process. This presentation, particularly geared for school psychologists and administrators, takes an in depth look at those evaluation requirements, including the members of the evaluation team, the areas of development to be assessed, the timelines for completing the evaluation, and the specific criteria for determining eligibility.
