Audi to Give PA School Boards Spring Legal Roundup

(Archbald, PA) - Partner John G. Audi of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams will deliver the Spring Legal Roundup for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 1:30 P.M. – 4:45 P.M. at the Northeastern Educational IU19, 1200 Line Street, Archbald, PA.

Intended for school board members, administrators and solicitors, the program offers a thorough review of all key legal developments in school law from the past year. Audi, partnered with a member of the PSBA’s legal services staff, will cover such issues as:

  • Amendments to the Child Protective Services Law
  • U.S. Department of Education missives on resource comparability, effective communication for students with hearing, vision or speech disabilities, and English learner students
  • The “Pass the Trash” Act 168 of 2014
  • Suicide prevention legislation
  • Right-to-Know law updates
  • Labor and employment-related issues

The PSBA, founded in 1895, is a nonprofit statewide association of public school boards and the first school board association established in the U.S. Its mission is to give elected school board members the tools, training and advocacy needed to successfully administer public education to all Pennsylvania students.

John Audi has over 35 years of experience in public sector Labor and Employment Law and now focuses his work on education labor law, public sector labor law, legal consultation and staff training. His vast experience touches all aspects of labor relations matters, including arbitrations, bargaining, PLRB hearings, and related court litigation. He served for 11 years as an administrative law judge for the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board and he is a frequent lecturer on labor, employment and education legal matters.
