Pittston, PA Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams, a law firm known for its proficiency and experience in Pennsylvania education law for almost a quarter of a century, has moved its Pittston, PA location to 250 Kennedy Boulevard, Suite 1. The telephone number remains the same: (570) 654-2210. Led by resident partner John G. Audi, this office services the firm’s client base in the northeast region of the commonwealth.

The firm traditionally serves in one of two roles for clients: Solicitor or Special Counsel. As Solicitor, the firm’s attorneys serve in the role of a general counsel, the chief legal advisor on all issues. As Special Counsel, the firm provides support to a school entity’s already-appointed solicitor, serving as an additional resource and providing experience in complex areas of education and labor law when specialized assistance is needed.

Currently, the firm serves as Special Counsel to over 200 school districts and as Solicitor to roughly two dozen school districts, vocational/technical schools and intermediate units. Additionally, the firm represents a number of municipalities in labor matters or as Special Counsel or Solicitor.

The firm’s practice areas include Civil Rights Defense, Educational Technology, Employment Discrimination, Labor and Employment, Litigation Hold, Municipal Law, Special Education, Student Services, and Tax Assessment Appeals.

Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams, LLP was formed in 1995 by nine experienced education lawyers who created the first private law practice in Pennsylvania dedicated entirely to Education Law.  Since then, the firm has grown to 15 attorneys who represent over 290 school and municipal entities as Solicitors or as Special Counsel in more than 50 counties throughout Pennsylvania.
