Coronavirus and Schools: ESY NOREP

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Posted on in Press Releases and Announcements

Would the attached NOREP be sufficient for our teachers to use if we move to virtual ESY instruction? For Box 2, we have them only include the relevant services, but we built the template within IEP Writer to make writing the docs easier.

We are taking the liberty of sharing with everyone the attached model pandemic-related ESY NOREP. It is a very good model that we feel is worth adopting.

We would suggest one change:  In the first section, check the “other” box rather than the ESY box. If you are able to identify the “other,” write “virtual ESY” in the blank (programs vary). The district will have already issued an ESY NOREP for all ESY-eligible children. This NOREP should be distinguished from the one already issued, as it is not changing the original ESY recommendation. It is, rather, proposing “continuity of education” programming that will take the place of that recommendation during the school closures.

Forgive me for stealing, but sometimes Pool Counsel gets itchy fingers.
