New Britain, PA – Partner Christina M. Stephanos of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP recently inspired a group of middle school students from the Kutztown Area School District as they prepared for a unique educational experience - participating in an appellate mock trial in Philadelphia federal court.

As an experienced litigator, Stephanos shared practical strategies for developing strong legal arguments and presenting them with confidence. Her visit was part of the students’ preparation for the field trip, offering them a rare opportunity to gain insight from a legal professional who regularly argues cases similar to the one they would be reenacting.

“The students were left wholly inspired by her energy and expertise,” said Beth Patten, Social Studies Department Chair and 7th Grade Social Studies teacher at Kutztown Area Middle School. “To have the opportunity to speak with an attorney of her experience was invaluable. We are so very grateful for her advocacy to education and learning.”

Stephanos brings a uniquely well-rounded perspective to her legal practice. In addition to her law degree, she holds a diploma in Special Education, certificates in Reading and Elementary Education, and previously taught Language Arts and Special Education for six years. Her legal work focuses on representing school districts in matters including IEP and Section 504 meetings, due process hearings, and special education audits. She also frequently leads professional development programs on special education law, inclusive practices, and mock due process proceedings.

Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams, LLP was formed in 1995 by nine experienced education lawyers who created the first private law practice in Pennsylvania dedicated entirely to Education Law. Since then, the firm has grown to 26 attorneys who represent over 290 school and municipal entities as Solicitors or as Special Counsel in more than 50 counties throughout Pennsylvania, and in additional practice areas, such as Construction Law, Tax Assessment Appeals, Audit of Operations and Practices, Real Estate Law and Oil, Gas and Mineral Law.
