Montanye Presents in Statewide Legal Webinar on Autism

Posted on in Events

New Britain, PA - As autism diagnoses continue to rise and schools face increasingly complex related hurdles in meeting the needs of students, Sharon W. Montanye of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP was selected by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute to serve as a faculty member for a recently recorded webinar, "Autism: Fitting the Pieces Together 2026." The program will be air on Friday, August 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The webinar features a discussion held in April of 2026 that addressed legal issues surrounding autism spectrum disorder through a review of relevant case law. Speakers also examined educational resources, supports for families, and public tuition funding opportunities for children on the autism spectrum.

Montanye’s fellow presenters included Dylan Cooper of the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute; Heidi B. Goldsmith, Esq.; Leona Z. Goldshaw, Esq.; Kate Hooven of ASERT (Autism Services, Education, Resources and Training); Brooke E.D. Say, Esq.; C. Clare Strange, Ph.D. of Drexel University; and Liliana Yazno-Bartle, Esq.

Montanye brings decades of experience in special education law to the program. She advises school boards, superintendents and administrators on navigating complex special education and pupil services requirements and is widely recognized for helping educational leaders translate legal mandates into practical solutions. She is a frequent presenter for school districts and professional organizations.

Before establishing her law practice, Montanye spent nearly 12 years in education as a certified teacher, administrator, grant writer and peer reviewer for both the United States Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. That firsthand experience in education provides a unique base perspective on the legal and operational challenges facing schools today.

The webinar is approved for 3 hours of CLE credit in 60-minute states and 3.6 hours of CLE credit in 50-minute states. Additional information and registration are available through the Pennsylvania Bar Institute at www.pbi.org
