Daniel Brigham brings a distinct perspective to special education law, combining his experience as an attorney with almost a decade of experience as an educator. As both a practicing lawyer and elementary school teacher, he understands the challenges facing students, families, educators and school districts – and the importance of finding practical solutions while navigating the complex legal and educational landscape.
Before joining Sweet Stevens, Daniel taught at the elementary level in the Harrisburg School District, where he served on the school leadership and union contract negotiation teams. He also earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Penn State University, along with a Pennsylvania Principal Certification.
His legal career includes extensive courtroom experience. Daniel appeared as local representation on behalf of busy litigation practices in hearings before magisterial district courts, arbitration panels and courts of common pleas across Pennsylvania.
Daniel’s connection to education and the law began early in his legal career. As a legal extern with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, he researched and wrote about issues related to FERPA, Pennsylvania truancy law, and legislative reforms impacting education. While a law clerk to the Honorable Angela R. Krom of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, he supported in matters including custody and delinquency. Following his clerkship, Daniel served in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General
Counsel, where he counseled the Public School Employees’ Retirement System.
